Point out their flaw quickly so the issue is clear

First examine yourself, then speak with humility

Stay silent until you never have any faults at all

Focus on their mistake so you do not have to think about yours

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I confess that I have often looked at others while ignoring my own sin. I need your mercy, and I cannot save myself. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and receive you as my Lord and Savior. Open my eyes, forgive me, and lead my life. Amen.

Open My Eyes, Lord Jesus

Lord, revive your church so we stop noticing tiny faults in others while ignoring larger faults in ourselves. Give us repentance, humility, and clear sight. Teach us to examine ourselves first, and to correct one another with mercy and truth. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Make Us Honest Again

Father, before I speak to anyone else, show me what I am missing in myself. Expose pride, defensiveness, and hidden sin, and give me a teachable heart. Help me welcome correction as mercy and repent quickly. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Search My Blind Spots

Pray by naming one person you are tempted to judge, asking God to reveal your own part first, and then asking for words that are humble, truthful, and kind.

Pray Before You Correct

Thank God that he does not leave blind spots hidden forever. Thank him for the mercy that corrects pride and leads you toward humility.

Thank You for Honest Sight

Pray for the person whose fault irritates you, that God would bless them, help you see them truthfully, and give both of you peace and patience.
