34. Formal Translation And we—the priests, the Levites, and the people—cast lots concerning the wood offering to bring it into the house of our God {Eloheinu, Temple Sustainer}, by the houses of our fathers, at appointed times, year by year, to present it on the altar of the LORD our God {Yahweh Eloheinu, Covenant Commander}, as it is written in the Law. |
34. Dynamic Translation We—the priests, Levites, and all the people—cast lots to decide when each family will bring the wood offering to the house of our God {Eloheinu, Community Sustainer} at scheduled times each year to place it on the altar of the LORD our God {Yahweh Eloheinu, Central Worship Focus}, just as the Law states. |
