Source Text: Hebrew (WLC) Nehemiah 10:38:1 ⧉וְהָיָ֨הvehayaand he shall be Nehemiah 10:38:2 ⧉הַכֹּהֵ֧ןhakohenthe priest Nehemiah 10:38:3 ⧉בֶּן־אַהֲרֹ֛ןbenaharonson of Aaron Nehemiah 10:38:4 ⧉עִם־הַלְוִיִּ֖םimhaleviyimwith the Levites Nehemiah 10:38:5 ⧉בְּעַשֵּׂ֣רbeaserwhen {they} tithe, or in tithing Nehemiah 10:38:6 ⧉הַלְוִיִּ֑םhaleviyimthe Levites Nehemiah 10:38:7 ⧉וְהַלְוִיִּ֞םvehaleviyimand the Levites Nehemiah 10:38:8 ⧉יַעֲל֣וּyaalushall bring up Nehemiah 10:38:9 ⧉אֶת־מַעֲשַׂ֤רetmaasar{the} tithe of Nehemiah 10:38:10 ⧉הַמַּעֲשֵׂר֙hamaaserthe tithe Nehemiah 10:38:11 ⧉לְבֵ֣יתlevetto {the} house of Nehemiah 10:38:12 ⧉אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּelohenuour God Nehemiah 10:38:13 ⧉אֶל־הַלְּשָׁכ֖וֹתelhaleshakhotto the chambers Nehemiah 10:38:14 ⧉לְבֵ֥יתlevetto {the} house of Nehemiah 10:38:15 ⧉הָאֹוצָֽר׃haotsarthe storehouse |
38. Formal Translation And the priest, a descendant of Aaron, shall be with the Levites when they receive the tithe. And the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithe to the house of our God {Eloheinu, Cultic Center}, to the chambers of the treasury. |
38. Dynamic Translation A priest from Aaron’s family will accompany the Levites when they collect the tithe, and the Levites will deliver a tenth of those tithes to God’s house {Eloheinu, Sacred Dwelling}, to the storerooms of the treasury. |
