| 9. Formal Translation And a man who is clean shall gather the ashes of the heifer and deposit them outside the camp in a clean place; and they shall be kept for the congregation of the sons of Israel as a reserve for water of impurity, a sin-offering. |
| 9. Dynamic Translation A ceremonially pure person will collect the ashes of the heifer and place them in a ritually clean spot outside the camp. They are to be kept by the Israelite community for preparing water that removes impurity. It is a sin-offering. |
