17. Formal Translation
But the ones who are motivated by selfish ambition proclaim Christ {Christos, Proclaimed Messiah} not sincerely, thinking to cause trouble for me in my chains.
17. Dynamic Translation
Those others announce Christ {Christos, Central Message} out of selfish ambition, not with pure motives. They suppose they will make things even harder for me while I am in prison.
