8. Formal Translation More than that, I also consider all things to be loss, measured against the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord {Christos Iesous Kyrios, Supreme Master}. For His sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, so that I may gain Christ. |
8. Dynamic Translation In fact, I treat everything as loss because nothing compares with the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Because of Him I have let everything go, and I regard it as garbage, in order that I may gain Christ {Christos, Surpassing Treasure}. |
