17. Formal Translation And if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs indeed of God {Theos, Source of Inheritance}, and joint heirs with Christ {Christos, Suffering Messiah}—provided that we suffer alongside Him, so that we may also be glorified with Him. |
17. Dynamic Translation If we are God’s children, then we receive an inheritance—heirs of God {Theos, Generous Inheritance Giver} and co-heirs with Christ {Christos, Glorified King}—if indeed we share in His sufferings, so that we may also share in His glory. |
