2. Formal Translation For the teraphim have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen falsehood, and dreams of futility they speak; emptiness they offer for comfort. Therefore they have wandered like sheep; they are afflicted because there is no shepherd. |
2. Dynamic Translation For the household gods speak vanity and lies, and the diviners see only false visions; their dreams offer no comfort. Consequently the people wander like sheep for lack of a shepherd. |
