Source Text: Hebrew (WLC) Zechariah 13:3:1 ⧉וְהָיָ֗הvehayaand it will be Zechariah 13:3:2 ⧉כִּֽי־יִנָּבֵ֣אkiyinnavethat he will prophesy Zechariah 13:3:3 ⧉אִישׁ֮isha man Zechariah 13:3:4 ⧉עוֹד֒odagain or still Zechariah 13:3:5 ⧉וְאָמְר֣וּveamruthen they will say Zechariah 13:3:6 ⧉אֵ֠לָיוelavto him Zechariah 13:3:7 ⧉אָבִ֨יוavivhis father Zechariah 13:3:8 ⧉וְאִמּ֤וֹveimoand his mother Zechariah 13:3:9 ⧉יֹֽלְדָיו֙yoldavthe ones bearing him Zechariah 13:3:10 ⧉לֹ֣אlonot Zechariah 13:3:11 ⧉תִֽחְיֶ֔הtikhyeyou shall live Zechariah 13:3:12 ⧉כִּ֛יkifor Zechariah 13:3:13 ⧉שֶׁ֥קֶרshekera lie Zechariah 13:3:14 ⧉דִּבַּ֖רְתָּdibbartayou spoke Zechariah 13:3:15 ⧉בְּשֵׁ֣םbeshemin the name of Zechariah 13:3:16 ⧉יְהוָ֑הyahwehthe LORD Zechariah 13:3:17 ⧉וּדְקָרֻ֜הוּudekaruhuand they will pierce him Zechariah 13:3:18 ⧉אָבִ֧יהוּavihuhis father Zechariah 13:3:19 ⧉וְאִמּ֛וֹveimoand his mother Zechariah 13:3:20 ⧉יֹלְדָ֖יוyoldavthe ones bearing him Zechariah 13:3:21 ⧉בְּהִנָּבְאֽוֹ׃behinnavowhen he prophesies |
3. Formal Translation And it will come to pass, when anyone again prophesies, that his father and his mother who bore him shall say to him, “You shall not live, for you have spoken falsehood in the name of the LORD {Yahweh, Zealous Sanctifier}.” And his father and his mother who bore him shall pierce him through as he prophesies. |
3. Dynamic Translation If anyone begins to prophesy again, his father and his mother who gave birth to him will say, “You cannot remain alive, because you have told lies using the LORD’s {Yahweh, Holy Name Defender} name.” Then his father and his mother who gave birth to him will run him through while he is prophesying. |
