וַיְהִ֡י{va-ye-HI###vah-yeh-HEE###and it happened} לְעֵת֩{le-ET###leh-EET###at the time of} תְּשׁוּבַ֨ת{te-shu-VAT###teh-shoo-VAT###the turning back of} הַשָּׁנָ֜ה{ha-sha-NA###hah-shah-NAA###the year} לְעֵ֣ת{le-ET###leh-EET###at the time of} צֵ֣את{TSET###TSEET###going out of} הַמְּלָכִ֗ים{ha-me-la-KHIM###hah-meh-lah-KHEEM###the kings} וַיִּנְהַ֣ג{va-yin-HAG###vah-yihn-HAG###and he led} יוֹאָב֩{yo-AV###yoh-AAV###Joab} אֶת־חֵ֨יל{et-KHEL###eht-KHEEL###the force of} הַצָּבָ֜א{ha-tsa-VA###hah-tsah-VAA###the army} וַיַּשְׁחֵ֣ת{va-yash-KHET###vah-yahsh-KHEET###and he destroyed} אֶת־אֶ֣רֶץ{et-E-rets###eht-EH-rehts###the land of} בְּנֵֽי־עַמּ֗וֹן{be-NE-a-MON###beh-NEE-ah-MOHN###the sons of Ammon} וַיָּבֹא֙{va-ya-VO###vah-yah-VOH###and he came} וַיָּ֣צַר{va-ya-TSAR###vah-yah-TSAHR###and he besieged} אֶת־רַבָּ֔ה{et-ra-BA###eht-rah-BAA###Rabbah} וְדָוִ֖יד{ve-da-VID###veh-dah-VEED###and David} יֹשֵׁ֣ב{yo-SHEV###yoh-SHEEV###was sitting or remained} בִּירֽוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם{bi-ru-sha-LIM###bih-roo-shah-LEEM###in Jerusalem} וַיַּ֥ךְ{va-YAKH###vah-YAKH###and he struck} יוֹאָ֛ב{yo-AV###yoh-AAV###Joab} אֶת־רַבָּ֖ה{et-ra-BA###eht-rah-BAA###Rabbah} וַיֶּֽהֶרְסֶֽהָ׃{va-ye-HER-se-ha###vah-yeh-HER-seh-hah###and he tore it down}
