28. Formal Translation
Then a man from the people answered and said, “Your father made the people solemnly swear, saying, ‘Cursed is the man who eats bread today.’” And the people became faint.
28. Dynamic Translation
One of the people responded, “Your father commanded the people under oath, ‘Anyone who eats food today is cursed!’” That is why the people are exhausted.
