| 28. Formal Translation Then a man from the people answered and said, “Your father made the people solemnly swear, saying, ‘Cursed is the man who eats bread today.’” And the people became faint. |
| 28. Dynamic Translation One of the people responded, “Your father commanded the people under oath, ‘Anyone who eats food today is cursed!’” That is why the people are exhausted. |
