8. Formal Translation The Lord GOD{Adonai Yahweh, Sovereign Judge} has sworn by Himself, declares the LORD, the God of hosts: “I utterly loathe the pride of Jacob and I hate his palaces; therefore, I will deliver up the city and all that is in it.” |
8. Dynamic Translation The Lord GOD has pledged His life, declares the LORD{Yahweh, Covenant King}, the God of hosts: “I despise the arrogance of Jacob and hate his fortresses, so I will hand over the city and everything inside it.” |
