Move them away from the city and its sacred hill

Keep them resting there until the people prove themselves

Send them onto the surrounding nations instead

Leave them in place while the people handle it alone

God's anger and wrath should turn away from Jerusalem

The plea is grounded in God's righteous acts

Jerusalem and God's people have become a disgrace to those nearby

Confess the wrong, ask God for mercy, and turn from the sin

Protect your reputation and avoid naming the failure

Wait for time to make the damage disappear

Ask for a better outcome without admitting fault

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I confess my sin and the shame it has brought. I turn from my sin and from trusting myself to make things right. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. Please forgive me, cover me with your mercy, and make me your own. I confess you as Lord and ask you to lead my life. Amen.

Come to Me in Mercy

Lord, revive your Church with honest repentance. Where we have carried hidden sin, generational patterns, and public shame, turn your anger away in mercy and restore us to holiness. Make us a people who seek your righteousness and bring hope to those around us, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew Your People in Repentance

Father, look on the places and people that have become a disgrace because of sin. Turn away your anger, heal what has been damaged, and restore honor where there has been shame. Give us the humility to return to you quickly, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Restore What Sin Has Shamed

Name one sin plainly before God, then name one pattern you have inherited or repeated. Ask him to turn his anger away in mercy, and ask for the grace to begin obeying him in a new way.

Praying Honest Confession

Pray for: people in your community who feel publicly embarrassed; leaders who need to confess wrong without excuses; families marked by repeated sin, that God would break the pattern and heal the wound.

For Those Living in Shame

Give thanks for God's righteousness, for the fact that he hears humble confession, and for mercy that does not leave shame in control. Thank him that he can turn anger away and restore what sin has damaged.

Thank Him for Righteous Mercy
