1 And the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Speaker} spoke to Moses, saying {leʾamor: speech-introduction}.
2 Speak to the sons of Israel and let them take for Me {YHWH, Sovereign Benefactor} an offering {terumah: sacred contribution}; from every man whose heart impels him, you shall take My offering.
3 And this is the offering {terumah: dedicated contribution} that you are to take from them: gold, silver, and bronze {nechoshet: smelted copper alloy}.
4 And blue {tekhelet: rare blue dye}, and purple, and scarlet {tolaʿat: crimson worm} yarn, and fine linen, and goats’ hair.
5 And ram skins dyed red, tachash skins {techashim: unidentified hide}, and acacia wood {shittim: durable timber}.
6 Oil for the lamp {lamaor: ceremonial illumination}, spices for the anointing oil {mishchah: ritual anointing}, and for the incense of the spices.
7 Onyx stones and settings {milluim: ornamental fillings} for the ephod {ephod: priestly vestment} and for the breastpiece.
8 And let them make a sanctuary {mikdash: sacred space} for Me {YHWH, Dwelling Sovereign}, and I will dwell among them.
9 According to all that I {ani: Divine Revealer} am showing you the pattern {tavnit: blueprint} of the tabernacle and of all its vessels, so you shall make them.
10 And they shall make an ark {aron: sacred chest} of acacia wood {shittim: enduring timber}; its length shall be two and a half cubits, its width one and a half cubits, and its height one and a half cubits.
11 And you shall overlay it with pure gold {zahav: precious metal}, from the inside and from the outside you shall overlay it, and you shall make upon it a molding {zeir: decorative border} of gold all around.
12 And you shall cast {veyatsakta: molten shaping} for it four rings of gold, and you shall place them on its four feet {pa’amotav: foundational supports}, with two rings on one side and two rings on the other side.
13 And you shall make poles of acacia{shittim: desert thorn wood} and overlay them with gold{zahav: precious cultic metal}.
14 And you shall bring the poles {baddim: support rods} into the rings {tabbaot: fastening loops} on the sides of the ark, so that the ark may be carried with them.
15 The poles {badim: support beams} shall be in the rings {tabbaot: carrying loops} of the ark; they are not to be removed from it.
16 And you shall put into the ark the testimony {edut: covenant witness} which I {YHWH, Promise Giver} will give to you.
17 And you shall make an atonement cover {kapporet: Lid of Reconciliation} of pure gold {zahav: Refined Metal}, two cubits and a half in length, and a cubit and a half in width.
18 And you shall make two cherubim {keruvim: angelic guardians} of gold, fashioning them by hammered work {miqshah: beaten into shape}, at the two ends of the atonement cover.
19 And you shall make one cherub on one end from this side, and one cherub on the other end from this side; from the mercy seat {kapporet: atonement cover} you shall make the cherubim {keruvim: winged guardians} upon its two ends.
20 And the cherubim {keruvim: angelic guardians} shall spread their wings upward, overshadowing the cover {kapporet: atonement lid} with their wings, and their faces, each one toward his brother, shall be directed to the cover.
21 And you shall place the cover {kapporet: atonement lid} upon the ark from above, and into the ark you shall put the testimony that I {anoki: Promise Giver} will give to you.
22 And I {anoki, Divine Self-Declaration} will meet with you there and speak with you from above the atonement cover {kaporet: place of atonement} between the two cherubim upon the ark of the testimony concerning all that I will command you for the sons of Israel.
23 And you shall make a table of acacia wood; two cubits {ammatayim: two-cubit measure} shall be its length, a cubit {ammah: standard cubit} its width, and a cubit and a half its height.
24 And you shall overlay {vetsipita: method of covering} it with pure gold, and you shall make for it a molding {zeir: ornamental rim} of gold all around.
25 And you shall make for it a frame one handbreadth {tofakh: ancient hand measurement} wide all around, and you shall make a crown of gold {zahav: precious metal} for its frame all around.
26 And you shall make for it four rings of gold, and you shall put the rings on the four corners{peah: projecting sides} that are at its four legs{raglav: support base}.
27 The rings shall be placed close to the frame as housings {levatim: fixed sockets} for the poles {badim: carrying rods}, to carry the table.
28 And you shall make the poles {badim: carrying rods} of acacia wood, overlay them with gold {zahav: refined metal}, and the table shall be carried with them.
29 And you shall make its bowls, its spoons, its pitchers, and its libation bowls {menakkiyotav: sacrificial pouring vessels}, with which offerings will be poured; of pure {tahor: ceremonially clean} gold you shall make them.
30 And you shall place upon the table the bread of the Presence {panim: face-to-face fellowship} before Me {YHWH, Approving Presence} continually.
31 And you shall make a lampstand {menorat: sacred candelabrum} of pure gold; of hammered work it shall be made—its base and its shaft, its cups, its buds, and its blossoms; they shall all be from it {mimena: single piece}.
32 And six branches shall extend from its sides {tsad: directional flanks}, with three branches of the lampstand {menorah: sacred ritual lamp} from one side and three from the other side.
33 Three cups {g'vi'im: ceremonial vessels} shaped like almond blossoms on one branch with a knob and a flower, and three cups shaped like almond blossoms on the other branch with a knob and a flower—likewise for the six branches extending from the lampstand {menorah: sacred golden candelabrum}.
34 And on the lampstand {menorah: sacred light-holder} there shall be four cups fashioned like almond blossoms {meshukadim: symbolic awakening}, with its knobs and its flowers.
35 And a knob {kaftor: ornamental bud} shall be under two branches from it, and a knob under two branches from it, and a knob under two branches from it—for the six branches that come out from the lampstand {menorah: sacred candelabrum}.
36 Their buds and their branches shall be from it; all of it shall be hammered work {mikshah: metal beaten into shape}, a single piece of pure gold {zahav: precious metal}.
37 And you shall make its seven lamps {nerot: ceremonial lights}, and you shall set up {he’elah: secure arrangement} its lamps so that they may give light on the side in front of it.
38 Its tongs {malkacheha: metal grabbers} and its trays shall be of pure gold {zahav: precious metal}.
39 A talent {kikkar: weight unit} of pure gold shall be used to make it and all these vessels {kol-hakkelim: sacred utensils}.
40 And see that you make them according to their pattern {tavnit: Blueprint} that you are being shown on the mountain {har: Sacred Summit}.
