Come Near to God

Lord, you revealed yourself to Moses as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Revive your Church with holy awe, humble trust, and deep memory of your faithfulness. Where we have become casual before your presence, make us reverent again; where we have forgotten your long care, make us grateful again; where fear has silenced us, make us listen and obey. Awaken us to know you truly, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew Our Awe

Thank you, Lord, that you are not a God of the moment only, but the faithful God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Thank you for the ways you have carried your people through generations, and for the stories of grace that strengthen our trust today. Help us remember your past mercies with gratitude.

Thank You for Faithfulness Across Generations

Begin by naming who God is: holy, faithful, and near. Then bring your fear or distraction into the light, ask for a humble heart, and listen before you speak again. Finish by asking for one obedient step that honors his presence.

How to Pray with Reverence

Lord, bless the children, families, and communities that will come after us. Let them know you as the same faithful God who met Moses, and let our lives pass on a true memory of your goodness. Raise up a people who remember your name with trust and reverence.

Faith for the Next Generation

Father, forgive me for treating your presence lightly, for being distracted when I should be listening, and for letting fear or pride keep me from you. I turn from self-reliance and from every irreverent attitude. Teach me to honor you, to trust your faithfulness, and to come before you with a humble heart, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Turn My Fear into Reverence
