Offer explanations about why the suffering happened, before helping

Keep your distance so you are not burdened by the problem

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, you see my need, and I come to you with my sin and my sorrow. I admit that I have sinned and gone my own way, and I cannot save myself. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust you as my Lord and Savior. Hear my cry, forgive me, and lead my life from this day on. Amen.

Hear My Cry, Lord Jesus

Lord, you who see suffering, hear cries, and know pain, revive your Church. Make us quick to notice the oppressed, ready to listen to the hurting, and willing to step near with mercy and courage. Break our indifference and give us your heart for those in distress, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Awaken Compassion in Your Church

Father, for the person whose burden is heavy today, let them know you see, hear, and understand. Bring relief, courage, and a reminder that they are not forgotten, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

For the One Under Pressure

Name one person who is under pressure. Thank God that he sees their situation, ask him to hear their cry, and then ask what one practical step you can take this week to help.

Pray for the Hurting by Name

Pray for people who feel trapped by harsh treatment, for relief where there is crushing pressure, and for God to raise up helpers who notice, listen, and act with justice and mercy.

For Those Under Oppression

Give thanks that God does not ignore the hurting: he sees hardship, hears cries, and knows pain. Thank him for his nearness, his compassion, and his power to act.

Thank God for His Attention
