| 8. Formal Translation For the fields of Heshbon are withered, and the vine of Sibmah languishes; the lords of the nations have struck its choice branches. They reached as far as Jazer and strayed into the wilderness; its tendrils are spread out, and they have crossed over the sea. |
| 8. Dynamic Translation The fields of Heshbon are dried up, and the vine of Sibmah is withering. Foreign rulers have cut down its best branches, though its shoots had reached to Jazer and had wandered through the wilderness. Its offshoots spread out, crossing over the sea. |
