Jeremiah 20:10:2שָׁמַ֜עְתִּיshamaetiI heard Jeremiah 20:10:3דִּבַּ֣תdibatreport of or whispering of Jeremiah 20:10:4רַבִּים֮rabimmany Jeremiah 20:10:5מָג֣וֹרmagorterror Jeremiah 20:10:6מִסָּבִיב֒misavivfrom all around Jeremiah 20:10:7הַגִּ֙ידוּ֙hagiduannounce Jeremiah 20:10:8וְנַגִּידֶ֔נּוּvenagidenuand let us announce him or it Jeremiah 20:10:9כֹּ֚לkolall or every Jeremiah 20:10:10אֱנ֣וֹשׁenoshman or person Jeremiah 20:10:11שְׁלוֹמִ֔יshelomiof my peace, my friend Jeremiah 20:10:12שֹׁמְרֵ֖יshomerewatching, guarding Jeremiah 20:10:13צַלְעִ֑יtsalemy limping, my stumbling Jeremiah 20:10:14אוּלַ֤יulaiperhaps Jeremiah 20:10:15יְפֻתֶּה֙yefutehe will be enticed or he will be deceived Jeremiah 20:10:16וְנ֣וּכְלָהvenukhlaand we can prevail Jeremiah 20:10:17ל֔וֹloagainst him or to him Jeremiah 20:10:18וְנִקְחָ֥הvenikkhaand we will take Jeremiah 20:10:19נִקְמָתֵ֖נוּnikmatenuour vengeance Jeremiah 20:10:20מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃mimenufrom him
10. Formal Translation
For I have heard the slander of many, terror on every side. “Report,” they say, “and let us report him.” All the men of my peace are waiting for my stumbling, saying, “Perhaps he will be enticed, and we can prevail against him, and we will take our vengeance from him.”
10. Dynamic Translation
I have heard the slander of many—terror on every side! “Denounce him!” they keep saying. All my friends are watching for me to slip. “Maybe he will be deceived,” they say. “Then we will prevail against him and take our revenge.”
