Pay attention for Christ's presence and acknowledge him when he is near

Focus mainly on outward religious acts and treat them as enough

Assume that being around spiritual things means you already know Jesus

Wait for a more dramatic sign before taking him seriously

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I have sinned and I need your mercy. I have not always recognized you or lived as if you were Lord. I turn from my sin and from trusting myself to save me. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I confess you as Lord and ask you to come into my life, forgive me, and help me know you truly. Amen.

Receive the One You Do Not Yet Know

Lord, revive your Church so we do not miss your Son when he stands among us. Wake us from routine, soften our hearts, and give us eyes to know Jesus and point others to him, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Open Our Eyes to Christ Among Us

Pray by naming one ordinary place where Christ may already be near in your life, then ask God to help you recognize him there and respond with obedience today.

Teach Me to Notice You

Thank God that Jesus does not stay far away, that he can stand among his people, and that he still makes himself known to those who seek him.

Thank You for Your Nearness

Pray for people close to Christian words and places who still do not recognize Jesus, that God would open their eyes through Scripture, kindness, and faithful witness.

For Those Who Have Not Recognized Him

Lord, keep me from confusing outward religion with truly knowing you. Make me humble, attentive, and ready to respond when you draw near, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
