A paid worker who is not the shepherd and does not own the flock

A true shepherd whose own sheep are at risk

A temporary helper who stays and guards the flock

A flock owner who personally keeps watch over them

Stay with the people entrusted to you and protect them, even if it costs you

Step aside to preserve your own safety and hope another person handles it

Wait until the danger is over, then return and explain what happened

Protect only the strongest people, since the weaker ones are less urgent
