He waits for them to prove themselves first

He teaches them from a distance but stays uninvolved

Choose the costly good of others, even when it requires real sacrifice

Help only when it is convenient and does not interrupt your plans

Protect others by keeping emotional distance and avoiding involvement

Give support only after people have proved they deserve it

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and wandered from your care. I cannot save myself. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust you as my Lord and Savior. Bring me into your care and lead my life. Amen.

Come Into My Care

Lord, revive your Church so we know you truly and reflect your heart of care. Break our distance, soften our pride, and teach us to lay down comfort for the people you love. Make us a people of sacrificial compassion, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Your Shepherding Church

Give thanks for being known by the Father and held in the Son's care; thank God for a Shepherd who does not stand far off. Praise him for love that is personal, steady, and willing to give.

Grateful to Be Known

Pray for pastors, parents, teachers, and friends to love with costly faithfulness. Pray for those who feel unprotected to find steady care in Christ, and for the Church to notice and serve the vulnerable.

For Those Entrusted to Us

Pray by naming one person you are responsible for or close to, ask Jesus for a shepherd's heart toward them, and ask for one concrete act of costly care you can do this week.

Ask for a Shepherd's Heart

Lord Jesus, when I feel unseen or unsafe, remind me that you know me and give your life for me. Let your care steady my heart and free me to trust you again. Amen.
