They ask him to perform a sign right then

Ask him directly and plainly about who he is

Keep collecting other people's opinions instead of asking him

Decide first what answer you want and ignore the rest

Avoid the question because honesty feels risky

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and I need your mercy. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust you alone as my Savior and Lord. Make yourself known to me, forgive me, and lead my life. Amen.

Receive Jesus Clearly

Lord, awaken your Church from confusion and fear. Where we have been vague about who Jesus is, give us courage to speak clearly. Where we have been silent, make us bold; where we have been uncertain, make us steady. Let our witness point people to the Messiah without hesitation, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Start by naming one question you are carrying about Jesus. Ask God to show you what is true, to keep you from pretending certainty, and to give you a clear next step as you read and pray.

Pray Your Questions Honestly

Pray for friends who are skeptical or confused about Jesus; courage to ask honest questions instead of withdrawing; patience to keep seeking until his identity becomes clear.

For People Who Want Clarity

Thank God that Jesus does not turn away from sincere questions; thank him that the Messiah can be asked about openly; thank him for giving truth to those who keep seeking.

Thank You for a Jesus Who Can Be Known

Bring before God our habit of rushing to conclusions; our need for humility when Jesus does not answer on our timetable; and our desire to keep seeking him until we hear him clearly.

Grow Us in Honest Seeking
