Do for others what Jesus did for you, with humility

Admire Jesus's example without changing how you act

Copy only the outward behavior, not the heart behind it

Serve only when people have already earned it

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and cannot make myself right with God. I turn from my sin, believe that you died for my sins and rose again, and confess you as Lord. You have shown me the way, and I want to follow you. Thank you for receiving me. Amen.

Receive the Pattern-Giver

Lord, revive your church to live the way of Jesus, not merely to admire it. Make us humble where we are proud, eager to serve where we are passive, and faithful to act where we have only spoken. Shape our communities into living examples of your Son's life, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew the Church in Jesus's Way

Give thanks for Jesus's clear pattern, for the mercy of learning by his life, for the dignity of serving others, and for the grace that makes his way possible for us.

Thank You for a Living Example

Father, I confess that I often want the honor of Jesus's example without the cost of living it. Forgive my pride, my convenience, and my selective obedience. Teach me to turn from self-centered ways and to copy your Son's way toward others, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

When I Resist Your Example

Pray by naming one relationship, place, or task where you need to follow Jesus's example. Ask God to show you one concrete act of humble service, and ask for the courage to do it quietly and faithfully.

Show Me One Person

Pray for believers near and far to become a clear model of Christ's humility; for homes, churches, and workplaces to be marked by service; and for people watching our lives to see Jesus more clearly.
