They had not yet made requests under Jesus' authority

They had not yet trusted Jesus to hear them

They had not yet spoken about their needs

A request shaped by Jesus' authority and his way

A request I keep to myself until I feel worthy

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit my sin and my need for your mercy. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust you as my Lord. Teach me to come to the Father through you, and let my life be shaped by your grace. Amen.

Come to Jesus and Ask

Father, revive your Church to pray instead of relying on ourselves. Teach us to ask with faith under the authority of Jesus, to wait with patience, and to rejoice in your answers. Make our prayer lives alive again, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew the Church in Prayer

Lord, I bring you the requests I have been holding back. Give me courage to ask clearly, humility to depend on you, and patience to keep bringing my needs to you until you answer, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Help Me Ask

Give thanks for: the privilege of coming to God through Jesus; prayers that have already been answered; joy that grows when God responds.

Give Thanks for Hearing Prayer

Pray by naming one real need, asking it plainly, and placing it before God through Jesus rather than through your own merit or control.

Pray Under Jesus' Authority

Pray for: a friend who has almost stopped asking God for help; someone waiting for an answer; that their joy would become full through Jesus.

Joy for Someone Else
