Handle them carefully, fairly, and without humiliation

Rush them through as fast as possible so they are out of the way

Treat them as a problem rather than a person

Assume restraint means they deserve no explanation

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that my sin has bound me, and I cannot free myself. I turn from my sin and ask you to forgive me. I believe you died for me and rose again. I confess you as Lord and trust you to lead my life. Set me free and make me yours. Amen.

Come to the One Who Frees the Bound

Lord, revive your Church to act with truth, courage, and mercy when people are vulnerable and power is in our hands. Keep us from rushing past the bound and from treating people as obstacles. Make us a people who honor you in what we do and how we handle others, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Your Church to Act with Mercy

Father, for anyone who feels trapped, restrained, or handed over to circumstances they cannot control, bring peace and steady hope. Help them remember that you see them, hold them, and will not forget them, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

For the Bound and Weary

Pray by naming one place where you have authority or responsibility, ask God for fairness and patience, then ask him to show you one way to treat a vulnerable person with dignity today.

Pray for Fairness in Places of Responsibility

Thank God for Jesus' willingness to endure restraint and to keep moving forward in obedience. Thank him that injustice does not have the last word, and that he remains faithful even when human power seems strong.

Give Thanks for Jesus' Steadfastness

Pray for leaders and decision-makers: that they would not use power to humiliate, that they would handle people with fairness, and that the vulnerable would be treated with care. Pray for anyone who feels sent away or overlooked, that God would guard them and give them hope.
