Repeat the claim right away so everyone hears how serious it sounds

Decide the person is guilty as soon as you hear the complaint

Refuse to hear the matter and leave it unresolved

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and that I need your mercy. I have judged others too quickly and spoken unfairly. Lord, revive your Church to be slow to accuse and quick to listen. Make us a people who seek truth, speak fairly, and refuse rumor. Where we have rushed to judgment, restore humility and courage. Awaken us to reflect your justice and mercy in a wounded world, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Your Church to Seek Truth

Thank God that he cares about truth, sees every accusation, and invites us to live honestly. Give thanks that he does not ask us to build our lives on rumor, but on what is right and fair.

Pray for judges, leaders, parents, teachers, and friends: that they would not rush to accusation, but would seek the truth with humility and courage. Ask God to make your homes, churches, and workplaces places where people are heard fairly, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Truth in Public and Private

Father, when I hear something serious about another person, slow me down. Keep me from repeating what I have not checked, and teach me to ask fair questions and speak with wisdom, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
