Choose restraint and refuse to add more harm

Keep applying force until nothing remains unfinished

Delay for a while, then continue the same harsh treatment

Switch to a calmer tone while leaving the pressure in place

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and cannot save myself. I turn from my sin and trust that you died for me and rose again. I confess you as Lord of my life, and I ask you to forgive me, wash me clean, and give me new life. Amen.

Receive the Lord Who Died and Rose Again

Lord, revive your Church with the reverence and mercy shown in this verse. Make us people who stop adding harm when others are already wounded, who honor the life and death of Jesus, and who refuse cruelty in all its forms. Awaken us to compassion, restraint, and faithful obedience, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Your Church with Mercy

Father, thank you that mercy can show itself not only in action but also in restraint. Thank you for every moment when harm is stopped and dignity is preserved. Teach me to notice your kindness in the limits you set, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank You for Mercy That Stops

Lord, when I am tempted to push harder, speak sharper, or keep going when I should stop, give me self-control. Help me choose gentleness where harm would only increase, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Help Me Stop Before I Harm

God, I bring before you those who are vulnerable, overlooked, or already hurting. Protect them, surround them with people who will not trample their pain, and give them peace and dignity, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Guard the Vulnerable

Pray by naming one situation this week where you need restraint. Ask God to show you where to stop, how to protect the vulnerable, and how to respond with mercy instead of pressure.
