He bent down, looked inside, saw the burial wrappings, and stayed outside.

He went straight inside and kept searching until he found the body.

He stood far away and never bothered to look into the tomb.

He looked in, saw nothing, and turned away without pausing.

Slow down, look carefully, and hold back from acting until you know more.

Act on the first impression and move ahead immediately.

Ignore what you saw and keep your earliest assumption.

Wait to think, but do not really observe anything more.

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and tried to live on my own. I need your mercy and your new life. Father, revive your Church to slow down, look carefully, and respond with wisdom. Where we have rushed past what you are showing us, open our eyes again. Give us humility to notice, patience to wait, and courage to keep our place until you lead us forward, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew Our Sight and Restraint

Lord, thank you for the gift of careful sight and for moments when you teach us not to rush. Thank you that quiet observation can be holy, and that restraint can serve wisdom. Help me value what you place before me, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Name one situation where you feel pressure to act quickly. Tell God what you have noticed, what you do not yet know, and ask him for calm attention before you move.

Pray Over One Decision

Bring these to God: rushed reactions; the habit of assuming too soon; the grace to look carefully; the willingness to wait when restraint is wiser than impulse.

Growing in Patient Discernment

Lord, when I want to move before I have seen clearly, teach me to pause. Give me patience to notice what is true, restraint to stay where I should stay, and wisdom for the right time to act, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
