Jesus is not depending on human testimony.

Jesus speaks these things so the listeners may be saved.

Jesus speaks without any clear purpose for them.

Listen closely and trust his words even when people disagree

Wait until the message is popular with others

Treat his words as optional advice for later

Use his words mainly to win arguments with other people

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I confess that I have sinned and need your rescue. I turn from my sin and from trusting myself. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I receive your words of life and trust you as the one who saves me. Be my Lord and Savior, and lead me from death into your rescue. Amen.

Receive the Savior's Word

Lord, revive your Church so we stop chasing human approval and start listening to the words of Christ. Make us people who trust the gospel, speak it clearly, and call others to the salvation you give. Wake us from every dullness, and let your saving truth ring through us, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew a Church That Listens

Give thanks for Jesus' words that are not aimed at winning human testimony but at our rescue. Praise God for speaking truth that saves and for the mercy that comes before our response.

Grateful for Saving Words

Pray by naming one place where you crave human approval, then ask Jesus to free you to hear his words as saving truth and to trust them before anything else.

Pray to Hear and Trust

Pray for someone who dismisses Jesus' words or waits for human proof: ask God to soften pride, open their ears, and lead them to salvation.

For Those Who Need to Believe

Lord, train me to listen to your words as the way of life. Free me from needing people to validate your truth, and make my heart quick to trust and obey what you say, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
