Read them as if Moses matters but Jesus does not

Lord, revive your Church to hear the witness of Scripture and come to Jesus with fresh faith. Keep us from reading your Word as mere information, and make us a people who see your Son clearly and follow him gladly. Renew our love for the Scriptures because they lead us to Christ, and make our witness bold and alive, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Wake Your Church to Christ in the Word

Give thanks that God has not left us with isolated words, but with a testimony that points to his Son. Thank him for the faithfulness of Moses and for the gift of Scripture that prepares our hearts to believe Jesus.

Thanks for a Witness That Leads to Jesus

Begin by asking God to show you where a passage points to Christ. Name one place in your reading where you need help seeing Jesus clearly, and ask for a humble heart that is ready to believe and obey.

Read the Scriptures with Open Eyes

Confess any habit of reading the Bible for facts, arguments, or self-confirmation while missing Jesus. Ask God to forgive a hard heart, to re-center your attention on his Son, and to make your Bible reading lead to faith.

Turning from Empty Reading

Pray for people who respect Scripture but have not yet trusted Christ. Ask God to open their eyes to the witness already in the Word, to soften their hearts, and to draw them from reading about God to knowing his Son.
