Thank God for people who ask with care, for conversations that help us understand one another, and for the mercy of being heard well when we tell what he has done.

Begin by naming one story or struggle that needs more understanding. Ask God for clear words, a patient spirit, and ears that can hear well. Then ask him to guide both speaking and listening so truth is shared kindly and fully.

Pray for Clear and Honest Conversation

Pray for a person who is retelling something painful or important, that they would be heard with respect, not brushed aside. Ask God to give them courage, to guard them from discouragement, and to use their story to point others toward Jesus.

For Someone Whose Story Needs Care

Lord, teach me to slow down, listen carefully, and ask questions that help me understand instead of assuming too quickly. Grow patience, gentleness, and honesty in me, and make me a person who honors others by caring about their story, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
