No one had ever reported this happening before

The event was something people had already seen many times

Sight was given to someone who had never seen

Listen carefully and let the report deepen your reverence

Dismiss it because nothing new can happen

Treat it as interesting, but irrelevant to faith

Assume every unusual claim must be exaggerated

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and need your mercy. Open the eyes of my heart, because I cannot save myself. Open My Eyes to You

Lord, renew your Church so we do not live as if you can only do what has been seen before. Open our eyes to your power, deepen our faith, and make us a people who bear witness to your works with humility and joy, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew Our Wonder

Father, thank you for the works you do that exceed human expectation. Thank you that your power is not limited by what people have seen before. Give me a grateful heart that praises you when you act beyond my understanding, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank You for What You Alone Can Do

Pray by naming one situation that feels beyond help, ask God to show whether he is at work in it, and ask for the humility to keep listening rather than shutting the door too soon.

Pray About the Impossible

Bring these to God: any place you have become cynical; your need for a believing heart; willingness to wait for God to do what people say cannot be done.

Pray for: someone facing a problem that seems beyond repair; a friend who has lost hope; believers who need courage to testify when God does something only he can do.
