Lord, revive your Church where we hear your truth and rush to defend ourselves. Give us humble hearts that listen, repent, and welcome your searching word. Open our eyes where we are blind, and make us a people who receive correction with faith and courage, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Pray by naming one area where you may be resisting Jesus' correction, then ask him to show you what is true and to help you respond without arguing.

Bring to God any quickness to justify yourself, any pride that hates being shown wrong, and any fear that keeps you from admitting what you need to see.

Where I Defend Myself

Pray for people who hear Jesus' words but feel threatened by them, that they would receive truth with humility instead of defensiveness, and that God would give them clear sight.

For People Who Feel Exposed

Thank God that he does not leave us in blindness, but speaks truth that can uncover what is hidden, correct what is crooked, and lead us into clearer sight.
