20. Formal Translation And if the Lord {Kyrios, Sovereign Preserver} had not cut short the days, no flesh would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect, whom He selected, He has cut short the days. |
20. Dynamic Translation If the Lord {Kyrios, Merciful Protector} had not shortened those days, no person would have survived. But because of the chosen ones, whom He has chosen, He shortened the days. |
