He obeyed right away and went ahead with the marriage

He waited for a calmer moment before deciding

He treated the instruction as optional advice

Do what seems practical even if it ignores the instruction

Lord, stir your Church out of spiritual sleep. Where we delay, doubt, or choose our own way, wake us again to hear your voice and follow quickly. Make us a people who trust your direction and act on it with humility, courage, and faithfulness, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
