He told them to take courage or take heart.

He promised they would never face trouble again.

Wait until you feel no fear at all before doing anything.

Keep the fear hidden and act as if nothing is wrong.

Try to control every detail so nothing unexpected can happen.

Pause, remember Jesus is present, and take the next brave step.

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and lived apart from you. I turn from my sin and need your mercy. Lord, awaken your Church to hear your voice in the middle of fear. Where we are timid, make us brave; where we are anxious, remind us that you are near; where we have stayed silent, teach us to speak peace and hope. Renew our trust and send us out with courage, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
