Assume any religious teaching is safe if it sounds familiar

Ignore the issue unless it causes an obvious problem

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have listened to wrong voices and sinned against you. I need your mercy and your truth. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and receive you as my Lord and Savior. Lead me in your truth and keep me from what misleads me. Amen.

Receive the Lord Who Tells the Truth

Lord, awaken your Church from shallow hearing and careless agreement. Keep us from empty religion and misleading teaching. Give us humble hearts, clear minds, and a love for your truth that is stronger than pressure or pride. Make us steady, alert, and faithful to you, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Your Church in Discernment

Pray by naming one voice, idea, or teaching that has been influencing you. Ask God to show you whether it lines up with Jesus, to expose anything misleading, and to give you peace to follow what is true.

Pray for a Discerning Heart

Bring these to God: the habits of thinking you have absorbed; the people or media that shape you most; the grace to keep what is true and release what is not.

Testing What We Hear

Father, protect me, my family, and your people from teaching that sounds right but pulls us away from Jesus. Give us clear minds, humble hearts, and courage to choose truth over easy agreement, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Protection from Misleading Influence

Thank God for Jesus' patience when his followers misunderstand; for truth that is deeper than appearances; for the mercy of being corrected before damage grows.
