They only lose their comfort, not their life.

They find a better life by guarding it closely.

Losing your life for Jesus' sake leads to finding it.

The verse says the outcome depends on luck, not on choice.

The verse treats clinging to life as the road to gain.

Giving up all personal responsibility and refusing to choose

Putting Jesus ahead of self-protection, even when obedience is costly

Doing whatever feels most meaningful, even if Jesus is not the center

Lord, revive your Church where we have clung to comfort, safety, and control. Give us courage to lose our lives for your sake, to trust your promise, and to become a people who follow you with real surrender, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Pray for someone you know who is facing a costly decision, that Jesus would give them courage to obey, freedom from fear, and the joy of finding life in him.
