Speaking wrongly about another person as if it were true

Refuse harm, betrayal, theft, and falsehood, even when they seem convenient.

Avoid only the most public sins, since small compromises do not matter much.

Keep your motives sincere, because actions matter less than intentions.

Choose whichever command feels easiest right now.

Lord, revive your church so that we do not only hear your commands but live them. Make us people who refuse harm, reject deceit, keep faithfulness, and guard the trust of others. Let our words and actions agree, and make our witness clean before the world, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank God for speaking clearly about how to treat others. Give thanks for his protection against violence, betrayal, theft, and lies, and for the mercy that calls us into a better way.

Pray for anyone who has been lied to, betrayed, or wronged. Ask God to heal wounded trust, bring justice in what was taken or broken, and give wisdom for rebuilding healthy relationships.
