Exegesis
The subordinate clause hotan kathise ho huios tou anthropou epi thronou doxēs autou {ὅταν καθίσῃ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐπὶ θρόνου δόξης αὐτοῦ | hó-tan ka-thí-sē ho hy-iós toû an-thrṓ-pou e-pí thró-nou dóx-ēs au-toû} ‘when the Son of Man sits on His throne of glory’ uses the subjunctive for a future event.
The main future verb kathesesthe {καθήσεσθε | ka-thḗ-se-sthe} ‘you will sit’ is coordinated with kai humeis epi dōdeka thronous {καὶ ὑμεῖς ἐπὶ δώδεκα θρόνους | kaí hy-meîs e-pí dṓ-de-ka thró-nous} ‘and you on twelve thrones’, with krinontes {κρίνοντες | krí-non-tes} ‘judging’ governing tàs dōdeka phylas toû Israel {τὰς δώδεκα φυλὰς τοῦ Ἰσραήλ | tàs dṓ-de-ka phy-làs toû Is-ra-ḗl}, clarifying their judicial role.
In context — Matthew 19:28
But Jesus said to them, “Truly, I tell you, in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on His throne of glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
