He drew them away from the others for a private moment

He sent them ahead into the city without him

He spoke to the crowd and skipped the twelve

Take the person aside and speak privately

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and I need your mercy. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust you as my Lord and Savior. Lead me as I follow you, and make my life yours. Amen.

Follow Jesus on the Road

Lord, revive your Church to follow Jesus with steady hearts, to value private care, and to speak with wisdom along the road. Wake us from hurry and distraction, teach us to notice people, and make us faithful companions to one another. Stir us to walk closely with Christ and to bear his mind in our words, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew Your Church for the Journey

Father, thank you that Jesus did not keep his disciples at a distance, but drew them aside and spoke to them personally. Thank you that he leads with intention and cares enough to speak along the way. Help me trust his nearness and receive his words with gratitude, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank You for Personal Attention

Pray by naming one conversation that needs care, then ask God to help you choose a private time, gentle words, and a listening heart. Ask him to keep you from rushing, shaming, or avoiding what needs to be said.

Ask for a Wise Conversation

Bring these to God: the desire to keep following Jesus even when the road is difficult; a heart that stays attentive to the people walking beside you; readiness to learn in private as well as in public; patience to speak at the right moment.

Growing as a Thoughtful Follower

Pray for someone who is carrying a hard journey, that God would place trustworthy companions beside them. Pray for leaders, teachers, parents, and friends to know when to draw others aside with wisdom and care.
