He cleared the worship space of buyers and sellers

He turned over the currency dealers' tables

He knocked down the seats of the dove sellers

Clear out what turns worship into a place for gain and distraction

Keep the clutter if the setting still looks religious

Leave the system alone and just feel more spiritual

Focus only on private devotion and ignore what happens in gathered worship

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I need you to cleanse my life. I admit I have sinned and filled what should belong to God with selfish priorities. I turn from my sin and from trusting myself to make me right. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I confess you as my Lord and Savior, and I open my whole life to you. Amen.

Cleanse My Heart

Lord, revive your Church where worship has become crowded with noise, distraction, and selfish gain. Drive out what does not honor you, restore holy reverence among your people, and make our gatherings places of prayer and truth, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew Reverence in Your House

Father, search me and remove whatever makes my worship shallow, distracted, or self-serving. I confess that I have let convenience and pride crowd out reverence. Cleanse my heart, reorder my loves, and teach me to honor you with sincerity, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Clear Out My Motives

Give thanks for Jesus' courage to confront corruption, for his care for the holiness of worship, and for his refusal to leave sacred things treated casually.

Thank You for Holy Zeal

Pray by naming anything that distracts you, asking God to clear it away, and then asking for a heart that honors him with full attention.

Pray Before You Enter

Pray for churches, leaders, and worshipers: that God would remove greed, performance, and cluttered priorities, and fill his people with reverence, honesty, and prayer.
