They were treated the same way as the earlier servants

They were treated more gently than the earlier servants

Keep serving faithfully rather than stopping after the first setback

Stop all further effort because the task seems risky

Wait for perfect conditions before trying again

Answer mistreatment with the same kind of mistreatment

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I have sinned and I have often resisted your voice. I need your mercy and I cannot save myself. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust you as my Lord and Savior. Receive me, forgive me, and make me yours. Amen.

Receive Me, Lord Jesus

Lord, you kept sending your servants even when they were mistreated. Revive your Church so we do not harden ourselves against your word or turn away from your messengers. Give us humble hearts, steady obedience, and courage to receive what you send, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Make Your Church Responsive Again

Thank God for patient love that does not give up after one refusal. Thank him for repeated chances, faithful messengers, and the mercy that keeps reaching out even when people resist.

Thank You for Sending Again

Father, forgive me for the times I have ignored your repeated warnings or treated your messengers poorly in my heart. Give me a soft, teachable spirit that listens and obeys. Turn me back to you and keep me faithful, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Turn Me from Resistance

Pray by naming one area where God has already been prompting you. Confess any resistance plainly, ask him for humility, and ask for one obedient step you can take today.

Pray for a Receptive Heart

Pray for someone who has ignored wise warning more than once. Ask God to keep pursuing them, to soften what has grown hard, and to use faithful people to speak again with patience.

For People Who Keep Resisting
