Wait until he proves himself before giving him any honor

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, the Father sent you to us, and I need your mercy. I admit that I have sinned, honored myself instead of you, and tried to save myself. I turn from my sin and ask you to forgive me. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I confess you as Lord, and I receive you by faith. Teach me to honor you with my whole life. Amen.

Receive the Son

Father, revive your Church to honor the Son you sent. Where we have treated Jesus casually, awaken reverence; where we have delayed obedience, give us a willing heart; where we have listened without responding, turn our hearing into trust. Make us a people who receive your Son with joy and obedience, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Our Honor for the Son

Bring these to God: gratitude that he sent his Son rather than leaving us without hope; thanks for the patience behind that sending; praise that Jesus is worthy of honor; thanksgiving for every chance you have been given to respond rightly.

Thank You for Sending Your Son

Pray by naming one place where you have treated Jesus lightly. Ask the Father to show you how to honor the Son there, then ask for one concrete obedient step you can take today.

Pray for a Heart That Honors

Pray for: people who have heard about Jesus but still resist him; friends who need a fresh sense of his worth; churches and families learning to honor the Son together.

For Those Deciding How to Respond

Father, help me honor the Son you have sent. When I am tempted to ignore him, delay, or treat him as ordinary, turn my heart back to reverence and trust. Let my words, priorities, and choices show that Jesus is worthy, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
