Trying to raise yourself up ends in being lowered.

Choosing humility leads to being lifted up.

The humble person is still treated with contempt.

Self-promotion is the path to lasting honor.

Speak with restraint, listen well, and choose service over self-importance.

Make your contribution impossible to miss so your status stays secure.

Act modest in public while privately steering the group toward your own advantage.

Avoid every form of initiative, because humility means never taking a turn to lead.

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit my pride and sin, and I need your mercy. I believe you died for me and rose again. I turn from exalting myself and I surrender to you as Lord. Lift me into the life and honor only you can give. Thank you for receiving me. Amen.

Turn From Pride to Christ

Lord, revive your people where pride has taken root. Make us quick to serve, slow to boast, and eager to honor others above ourselves. Bring your Church low before you so that you may lift us up for your glory, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew a Humble Church

Bring before God the places where you push yourself forward, protect your image, or compare yourself to others. Ask him to expose the pride beneath those habits and to replace it with a quiet, teachable spirit.

Laying Down Self-Exaltation

Begin by naming one place where you feel the urge to impress or compete. Ask God to lower that urge, to make you content with hidden faithfulness, and to help you receive honor only as he gives it.

Pray for a Lowly Heart

Father, thank you that you see the humble and do not forget them. Thank you that you can lift up those the world overlooks. Teach me to trust your timing and your way of honor, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thankful for God's View of Humility

Pray for students, workers, leaders, and families who feel driven to prove themselves. Ask God to free them from comparison, give them the grace to serve, and let true honor come in his time.

For People Under Pressure to Compete
