He will stay behind and wait for them there.

The disciples will have to finish the journey on their own.

Wait until everything is visible before taking any step.

Keep following even when the next step is not clear.

Choose your own path first, then ask God to bless it.

Treat the promise as only a nice idea, not a reason to act.

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and tried to lead my own life. I need your mercy and your life. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust you as my Lord. Go ahead of me and lead me into the life only you can give. Amen.

Receive the Risen Lord

Lord, raise up your Church again. Where we have grown weary, fearful, or settled, breathe resurrection life into us. Make us a people who trust Jesus to go ahead of us and follow him with courage, hope, and obedience, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Father, when I cannot see the road ahead, remind me that Jesus goes ahead of his people. Give me peace in waiting, courage for the next step, and trust that your risen Son is leading me, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Begin by naming one decision or season that feels uncertain. Ask Jesus, who has gone ahead of you, to lead you clearly; then ask for the courage to follow the next faithful step.

Pray About the Next Step

Thank God that Jesus is risen and that he leads his people rather than leaving them behind. Thank him for hope after endings, for a way forward, and for the promise that death and loss do not get the last word.

Pray for someone who is afraid of what comes next. Ask God to show them the risen Christ, steady them with hope, and help them trust the One who goes ahead of them.
