Keep the gift for yourself and give nothing costly.

Wait to give until others will notice it.

Speak warmly, but leave the best untouched.

I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I confess you as Lord and give you my life. Teach me to honor you with all that I am. Amen.

Lord, revive your church to honor Jesus with wholehearted love. Forgive us for giving you leftovers when you are worthy of our best. Make us generous, sincere, and unashamed in our devotion, and let our lives point others to your worth, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Pray by naming one thing you tend to keep for yourself, ask God for courage to offer it gladly to Jesus, then ask him to make your worship sincere and free.

Pray for a Generous Heart

Pray for someone who struggles to trust Jesus with their best: that they would see his worth, loosen their grip on fear, and learn joyful generosity.

For Someone Who Holds Back

Father, loosen my grip on what I treasure so I can give Jesus my best. Free me from fear of waste or criticism, and make my worship wholehearted, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
