| 2. Formal Translation And they said, “My lord, the LORD {Yahweh, Lawgiver} commanded you to give the land as an inheritance by lot to the sons of Israel. And my lord was commanded by the LORD to give the inheritance of our brother Zelophehad to his daughters.” |
| 2. Dynamic Translation They said, “Sir, the LORD {Yahweh, Promise Keeper} told you to give the land to the Israelites as their inheritance, distributed by lot. He also told you to give Zelophehad’s inheritance to his daughters.” |
