| 23. Formal Translation By the hand of your messengers you have reproached the Lord {Adonai, Sovereign Judge}, and you have said, “With the abundance of my chariots I have ascended to the heights of the mountains and the farthest parts of Lebanon. I will cut down the height of its cedars, the choicest of its cypresses; and I will enter the lodge at its outermost border, the forest of its fruitful place.” |

Dynamic Translation You have insulted the Lord {Adonai, Supreme Arbiter} through your messengers and declared, “With all my chariots I have climbed the mountain heights, pushing into Lebanon’s remotest reaches. I will fell its tallest cedars and the finest cypresses, and I will break into the heart of its lush forest.” |
