He is thrown out like a branch and dries up

Keep returning to Jesus in prayer, obedience, and trust

Wait until you feel strong enough to need him less

Rely mainly on outward religious habits while staying inwardly distant

Assume closeness to Jesus will happen automatically

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and have tried to live apart from you. I cannot give life to my own soul or save myself. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and ask you to forgive me, make me yours, and keep me close to you. I confess you as my Lord and trust you with my life. Amen.

Come Back to the Vine

Lord, revive your Church where we have drifted, grown dry, and trusted ourselves instead of remaining in Christ. Draw us back to Jesus, the life-giving Vine, so we bear fruit that lasts and do not wither in our own strength. Wake us up to prayer, obedience, and dependence on you, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew Your Church's Life

Lord Jesus, when my heart feels dry or far from you, bring me back to close fellowship with you. Refresh what has withered, strengthen what is weak, and keep me from drifting away. Hold me in your life, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

For a Dry Heart

Pray by naming one area where you feel disconnected from Jesus, asking him to keep you joined to him, and then asking for one daily practice that will help you remain close this week.

How to Pray to Stay Near

Thank God for Jesus, who gives life instead of dryness, for the warning that protects you from drifting, and for every mercy that helps you remain fruitful in him.

Thanks for Life and Warning

Pray for a friend, family member, or neighbor who seems to be growing distant from Jesus: ask God to draw them back, refresh what is dry, and lead them into lasting life in Christ.
